Open Eyed Meditations by Shubha Vilas : Book Review

“No matter how much you try, you cannot make friendship deepen faster.
The test of friendship remains time.”

This beautiful quote is a part of this beautiful book which is a treasure of wisdom that one can put to use in day-to-day scenarios of life.

Meditation is a state of deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent. So it is not necessarily done with closed eyes sitting in a corner away from everything listening to or chanting some mantras. This is the myth Shubha Vilas, the author breaks in his book Open-eyed Mediations and conveys an important message that meditation is possible with open eyes.

The author has divided this book into 64 various chapters and each chapter makes you teach some practical worthwhile lesson. And the best thing is you can choose any chapter to read. The language is very simple. Moreover, various scenarios of Ramayana and Mahabharata are linked to present inspiring lessons making it very interesting and not like any self-help book.

This book is really special because it is written by Shubha Vilas who not only holds a degree in engineering but in law as well. Still at the core he is an author, a motivational speaker, lifestyle coach, and motivational speaker. So this book is from someone comes from varied experience in life. And so in this book shares valuable life lessons which will be beneficial to everyone.

The Bestseller She Wrote - Book Review

A banker turned author, Aditya Kapoor is living every man's fantasy of a balanced yet glitzy personal and professional life. He has everything, he has wished for a loving family and a successful career.
He is invited to speak  at his alma mater IIM-Bengaluru, where he has an argument with Shreya Kaushik who is a beautiful, young and ambitious student there. With similar aspirations in life, Shreya follows Aditya, leading to an extra marital affair and a life of chaos.

What happens next is for you to find out. Can one person love two people at a given point in time? Can one wisely make a choice between blind passion and ambition? Is it possible to trust someone again after betrayal?

Author Ravi Subramanian, has delved into a starry world of a writer with this book and has tried to uncover the outcomes of a risky dalliance between a married successful paperback author and his alluring protege.

The author -
Ravi Subramanian, an alumnus of IIM Bengaluru, has spent two decades working his way up the ladder of power in the adrenaline-pumping world of global banks in India. In 2008, his debut book' If God was a banker' won golden Quil Readers Choice award.

Review -
The first book I had read of Ravi Subramanian, was If God was a Banker. And I had realised that the writing style of the author is simple and easy to read. He tries to connect with the mind of his readers.
With this book, Ravi has tried to do something different by selecting to write about romance and the life of a successful author. Although the crux of the book is typical bollywood masala with a war between good and bad and ultimately good wins. Still he has been able to convey the complexities of the human emotions in a beautiful way. Each of the characters of Aditya, Maya and Sanjay are from our lives and well defined. At some point in our lives we might have met them or known about them from others.

Only the character of Shreya was different and little difficult to relate with. Shreya being the central character was too shallow. It was difficult to imagine her as so ambitious that she was ready to do anything to get what she wants, being a student and that too of a prestigious business school.

I found the storyline weak. The climax could have been better by not being so predictable. Would like Ravi to write something away from the glamor world of IIM and banks. And with strong women characters, which this book lacks. (Both Shreya and Maya were poles apart yet lacked strength)

The book is well paced and well written. On and all, it's an average book. I would like to recommend it to those who are going on a journey, if you find this book, you should grab it. Your time will be well spent.

Lucknow In All Its Glory

Entrenched in colors of Mughal glory, Lucknow is a city with a spectacular blend of both modern and historical. Although I may be living in another city, but if it comes to my favorite city then my heart will always belong to this city wherever I may go or live.
The ambience of Awadh has commonly been associated with the leisurely habits, etiquette, architecture, food and exiquisite traits - all a legacy of Nawabi culture.
There has been a lot of changes over the years and now another attraction – its high rising flats and apartments, sprawling townships, malls, commercial and official complexes.

Drive in the city will give you the taste of both new and old. If you are history lover, you can drive through the narrow roads of old Lucknow and see Bada Imambara. This is a Shia shrine complex that includes a mosque, a baoli (step-well), and a bhul bhulaiya (labyrinth). If you want to see the newer traits of the city you just have to ganjing, a name given to roaming in the streets of Hazratganj where you will get to see all the big brands. Or you could go to gomti nagar and feel the comfort of driving through wider roads with the cool breeze from gomti river.

When you think on design of the city, then it has not been made in a structured fashion. The old part of the city with ornamental Mughal designed architectures will takes your breath away. The Awadhi Nawabs, known for their extravagant and lavish lifestyle, did not only gift the city magnificent monuments but also provided it with a delicious cuisine and beautiful embroidery style ‘Chikankari'.The intricately done work is restricted solely to Lucknow and is believed to be introduced by Noorjahan, the wife of Mughal king Jahangir. Traditionally done with a white thread over cloth pieces of pastel shades, chikankari is practiced since the time Awadhi rulers owned the city.

Lucknow is connected in all ways, be it by roads or Indian Railways or the airport. But another way in which the city is connected is by its people. If you get lost in the city, you just have to stop and ask anyone and you will get the answer in a polite manner.

Over the years Lucknow has grown with the latest development as well as has managed to preserve the spirit of the bygone days.

Keeping a baby's soft skin safe

The first time you hold your baby in your arms, a feeling comes that your life will never be the same again. Another human being is now dependent upon you. More than anything else, you want to be the best mother possible. And that means a lot of responsibilities. Right from feeding your baby to keeping him safe and sound from all the problems.

Newborn baby's skin is delicate and super-sensitive. And needs special care. Post 6 months when the baby starts on solids, tries to move and grabs everything in sight… and puts it in his mouth, skin care becomes all the more important.

Here are some tips to know when it comes to keeping your baby's skin safe.

Massage & Bath
A good massage helps keep baby's skin soft and smooth. It also helps in improving weight gain, aiding digestion, improving circulation and building baby's strong bones. After the massage, give him a bath with warm water, followed by drying and applying a good baby lotion.

Do trim your baby's nails every week. This is also an important thing to keep in mind in order to keep the baby's skin safe, as babies are prone to scratching themselves.

Diapering
Changing the diaper as soon as it is wet, will help prevent the baby from getting rashes. Before putting the new diaper, dry the area and put some powder or lotion over there. Most important do wash your hands before And after changing the diaper. Replacing a peed- or pooped-in diaper with a clean, dry one plays a key role in preventing diaper rash. That’s because when skin stays damp for too long, it becomes more susceptible to rash-raising enzymes. So even if your baby isn’t fussing for a change, change him anyway as soon as you know the diaper is wet or soiled. Even if you are using nappies.

Use the right diaper in terms of size and softness for your child

Weather
Keeping your baby warm is important, but babies can also get too warm. Dress your baby in layers so that you can shed or add layers as needed.
With underdeveloped sweat glands, babies are very susceptible to heat rash. To prevent this, dress them in loose clothing and a hat to shield the sun.
In the winter, dry weather can harm Baby's skin, so place a cool mist humidifier in your nursery to keep the air moist. Just be sure to clean the humidifier regularly or it will develop mold. Also give your baby lots of water to stay hydrated during the cold, dry months.

Use only gentle baby products
Use skin-care products made especially for babies, such as fragrance-free and tear-free shampoos, bath gels, oils and lotions. With each one you use, be watchful of Baby's reaction in case he is allergic.
It's important to keep Baby's skin moisturized, so always have a supply of lotions around.

Baby's Clothes
Comfort should be the top priority while dressing up your baby or purchasing clothes for him. Look for soft baby clothing with snaps and elastic. And its good to wash the new clothes before putting them on your baby for the first time.
Try washing baby's clothes separately and only use washing powder which is gentle and chemical free. Disinfect the clothes after the wash. Few drops of dettol will keep the clothes germ free always.

Right from the day my baby was born, I have been following the above things and using Pampers diapers and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Next month my baby will be one, and till now he has not got a single rash or skin problem. Touchwood !!

All thanks to Pampers - “Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy. ”

There are times in lives of everyone, when one feels low and demotivated. In those times one needs someone to guide, to make the mood and inspire. And who else can do the task better than books. Books being one's best friend.

"Words To Inspire The Winner In You" by Dr. Roopleen is one such book with lots of inspiring quotes on 146 topics - Attitude, Confidence, Courage, Failure, Happiness, Mistakes, Motivation, Success, Values, Wisdom etc.

You dont have to read the book back to back, rather read it whenever you are free, have some You time to think and relax. The one liner simple quotes will make your mood and will make you think about your life, your actions and your attitude. You can select yout favourite quotes and print them in bols and stick it anywhere be it in your office or home, where you can see them. Read them everyday, start your mornings with some positive thoughts and in few days you will see the effect in your work and in your life.

Some of my favourite quotes from the book are -

Be as much as you can be. No more; certainly not less.

You only live once. Don’t deny yourself the luxury of living your best life.

You ruin your chances of making it big when you think small.

Don’t let mental blocks control you. Set yourself free. Confront your fear and turn the mental blocks into building blocks.

Each one of us has a story to tell.Make sure yours is the one that leaves a lasting impression.

The author has done a great job by keeping the language simple for anyone to understand.

The only thing I found negative about the book is that the price is high for the collection. More topics could have been there to make the book great.

From Frizzy to Beautiful Straight Hair

Frizzy hair is difficult to manage. What you will do, if you are born with it? I have tried all the different shampoos, conditioners and serums to tame my frizzy hair. I have even gone for straightening and that too not for once but thrice. Although with time and after so much efforts my hair has become less frizzy. But so much chemical treatment has resulted in other problems like hair fall. Finally I have given up my dream of having beautiful straight hair and have learned to live with my curly hair

Then one day I saw the new Indiblogger contest from Sunsilk for the newly launched Sunsilk Perfect Straight Range to get Beautiful Straight Hair Every day. Applying for a free sample, a glimmer of hope rose in my heart that this product just might be the solution to my problem!

About the product
Sunsilk with Yuko Yamashita (A hair stylist, salon owner and entrepreneur from Japan) has co-created Sunsilk Perfect Straight, the ideal hair products range for straight hair every day. The range includes Sunsilk Straight Shampoo, Sunsilk Straight Conditioner and a Sunsilk Straight Detangling Mist.
How it works?
The breakthrough Straight-Lock technology actively controls and holds every strand perfectly aligned as the hair dries. It penetrates deep within the hair fibre, reducing frizz and straightening strands, keeping them fully aligned as they dry.
My Experience
I received the package from Sunsilk a week back consisting of 80ml Perfect Straight Shampoo and 90ml Perfect Straight Conditioner bottles, priced Rs 56 each. The smell of the product was really good.
I tried both the shampoo and conditioner twice, with a gap of 5 days. The shampoo cleaned my hair and gave them a volume. The conditioner reduced the frizz. Together the combined outcome after drying was worth. My usually wavy hair was pretty straight! And I was really happy.
Although I felt, this shampoo and conditioner was not quite nourishing enough for my dry frizzy curly hair. But that isn’t what this product is for and I think it does exactly as it says, it detangles and straightens your hair as it dries and with great results! (Do not expect perfect straight like straightening gives.) For a quick, no expense party look, it’s a great product.
I would continue to use this product and would like to recommend it to others too.
Some Tips for using this product and getting the desired result of Perfect Straight Hair
Shampooing your hair once or twice a week is good enough
Try using a comb to spread the conditioner and your hair will be conditioned till the ends.
After washing, never comb your hair when it is wet. Combing frizzy hair when it is wet will save a lot of damage like split ends and broken hair.
Do oil your hair before shampooing. A simple warm oil massage followed by a hair wash after an hour will improve your hair texture.
Get a good haircut every 3 months.
And remember it is always important to love what you have.

Books, Books, Books

The day I read that my post was selected for the Blueprint for Change conest on Blogadda, I was very excited. My excitement was more on the fact that I have won not one but three books and less on winning.  I really love reading books and the more books I get to read the more happy I am.

Thank you Blogadda for sending me these fabulous books. I will write a review for each of the book, after reading.

By Nilanjana Roy

In the labyrinthine alleys and ruins of Nizamuddin, an old neighbourhood in Delhi, lives a small band of cats. Unfettered and wild, they fear no one, go where they will, and do as they please. Until, one day, a terrified orange-coloured kitten with monsoon green eyes and remarkable powers, lands in their midst—the first in a series of extraordinary events that threatens to annihilate them and everything they hold dear.

By Musharraf Ali Farooqi
In an old ruined city, emptied of most of its inhabitants, Ustad Ramzi, a famous wrestler past his prime, and Gohar Jan, a well-known courtesan whose kotha once attracted the wealthy and the eminent, contemplate the former splendour of their lives and the ruthless currents of time and history that have swept them into oblivion.

By Cyrus Mistry
A harrowing and indelible tale of star-crossed love that takes place in the little-known community of Parsi corpse-bearers in Bombay, Cyrus Mistry’s new novel is a moving account of tragic love that, at the same time, brings to vivid and unforgettable life the degradation experienced by those who inhabit the unforgiving margins of history.

Instant Bread Tikkis

This new year began a new journey for me and my husband after shifting to a new city, a new home and a new life. For me it was a totally new experience being at home. After settling in my quest to keep busy and on the same time to do something worthwhile also started. The first thing which I started doing was trying new recipes which were quick to make and healthy to eat. Bread Tikkis definitely come into this category.

Bread is almost a staple food in every home. Be it for breakfast or for evening brunch. For those who want to make something quick for snacks and are bored by eating bread butter or a bread sandwich, Instant Bread Tikkis are a boon. The method for making them is really supereasy.

Ingredients -

For 2 persons (Makes 4-5 Tikkis)
4 Bread slices
1 Small onion chopped
2 Tablespoon Curd
1 Tablespoon Cornflour
Coriander leave chopped
Red chilly powder as per taste
Salt as per taste
1 Tablespoon Oil for shallow frying

Method -

In a bowl crumble the bread slices, add chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, curd, cornflour, chilly powder and salt to taste.
Leave the mixture for 5 minutes and after that knead into a dough.
Divide the dough into small balls and give the shape you want. I made them round.
Heat oil in a non stick frying pan and add the tikkis. Shallow fry them on medium heat till golden brown in color.
Servethem hot with Green coriander chutney and a hot cup of tea.

Note ** No need to remove corners of the bread slices. You can make the tikkis from either white or brown bread. And donot add water. If the dough is too dry, add a little more curd.

Blueprint for Change for Today's India

This post is a contest winner in the Blueprint for Change - Weekend Contest at Blogadda

"Nevertheless, the past is over and it is the future that beckons to us now.
That future is not one of ease or resting but of incessant striving so that we might fulfill the pledges we have so often taken and the one we shall take today. The service of India means the service of the millions who suffer. It means the ending of poverty and ignorance and disease and inequality of opportunity. The ambition of the greatest man of our generation has been to wipe every tear from every eye. That may be beyond us but so long as there are tears and suffering, so long our work will not be over.
And so we have to labor and to work, and work hard, to give reality to our dreams."

From the historic speech delivered by Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister, on the eve of India's Independence (15 August, 1947).

We have completed 65 years since then. But the problems faced by today's India remain more or less the same. Poverty is widespread.  The Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) published a report in 2010 stating that 8 Indian states have more poor people than 26 poorest African nations combined which totals to more than 410 million poor in the poorest African countries. Corruption is another major issue which is also affecting India's Economy. If corrupton levels are reduced then India's GDP growth rate could increase to 12 to 13 per cent each year. Then there are other problems of Illiteracy, Gender Inequality, Unemployement, Population and Pollution in today's India.

Although there has been progress. We have built number of bridges and dams. We have sent satellites and rockets into space. We have increased the number of doctors, engineers, scientists tenfold. We have increased life expectancy from 32 years to 65 years. We have built about 1.25 million miles of new roads; we have multiplied our steel production by over 50 times and cement production by almost 20 times. We have increased our exports from a few million dollars at the time of independence to more than $125 billion now, with about $150 billion of imports.

Inspite of all this, we are a developing country and the problems India is facing today are grave. They are affecting the growth of our country. From being a developing country to become a developed nation, these problems have to to be overcome. And for this to happen, each citizen has to make some efforts.

"Be the change you want to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi

Being a firm believer in this quote. I will share those 5 problems as a part of the weekend contest on Blogadda - Blueprint for Change, about which I can myself do something to solve them.

Problem 1 - Shortage of Resources
Living in urban cities, most of us have faced or are facing problems of shortage of water and electricity in our every day lives. In the cities of NCR region, long hours of power cuts is a usual phenomenon. There is a huge gap in demand and supply. In 2012 only 20 states faced major power crisis when 3 electricity grids failed.

Conservation of Resources - Save Water, Save Electricity, Save Paper
Switch off the electronic appliances and lights, when not in use. There are number of ways to save water while washing dishes, washing clothes, bathing etc. Apply them. Think before giving Print function. Use email or sms.

Problem 2 - Pollution
With causes like increase in vehicle emissions, lack of organized garbage and waste removal services, diversion of consumer waste into rivers, cutting of trees, there has been an increase in pollution levels leading to breathing problems in individuals

Reduce, Recycling & Reuse is the Key - We can make several efforts towards reusing things. Using paper bags instead of plastic bags. Whenever possible try to take your own bags to market for shopping. Exchange your old clothes to any furniture items in exchange sales. Sell old stationary and newspapers to the local kabadiwalas. There are also programs where you can sell your end-of-life electronic items like - Mobile phones, computers etc. Give away useless toys, clothes and other used items to orphanages or old homes.

Go Green - Plant more trees in your surroundings, park, garden etc.

Problem 3 - Population
India is projected to overtake China as the world's most populous nation by 2030. One should have a small family. Small family leads to less expenses. Today people have more children in expectation of a boy. People are more, education is less, jobs are less and food is less.

Hum Do Humare Do - Every family should apply this. Girl or boy, two children complete the family. There should not be any gender biasness. A girl or a boy, both are equal. We should also teach our children the same. Whatever they will learn in life, they will become in future. After all children are the future of our country.

Problem 4 - Illiteracy
India currently has the largest illiterate population of any nation on earth. Although the literacy rate has grown hightin the past years. But still a lot has to be done. Illiteracy increases unemployement which in turn increases poverty. All this leads to corruption.

Educating - Each one, Teach one. If we take one hour of our day, each day, we might be able to make a difference in somebody's life. That person could be our maid or her children. Even if we dont have time, we can sponsor funds for the schooling of one child. We are educated individual and should share this gift with others who need them.

Problem 5 - Ignorance
This is the generation who has the "Who Cares" attitude. Always blaming the system for the problems happening around us. We blame our political system, our politicians. But do nothing to change all this. When it comes to voting, there are many who dont even have the Voters ID card. Nor they are interested in having one. We our busy in earning and making our lives. When we have enough money, we spend, we go on foreign trips. But we never ever think of utilising that money for helping someone in need.

Becoming aware - Read newspaper, watch news. Be aware about what is happening around you and in the world. Be aware of your rights.

Most of the problems, India is facinf today are inter related. One leadin to the other. Each of us should pledge to do our part well in order to make our country a developed nation.

Resolutions -
I will try to save water, power & paper as much as possible and will also make sure that family does the same.
I will try to walk instead if driving. Will try to sow more seeds, will try to plant more trees.
Girl or boy, one or two kids will complete the family.
I will try to make time and teach kids in my locality.
I will participate in our electoral process.

Vote - For a better political system
Pray - For a healthy life
Love - For everyone

Race 2 - A Good Timepass

Rating - Timepass

Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ameesha Patel

Direction: Abbas-Mustan

If you want to see lots of glamour, beautiful locales and tightly done action sequences, then you must watch Race2. The movie is a fun time pass. Abbas Mustan have done what they do best with action thrillers.

Race2 is a sequel and so it picks up where the first film ended. Ranveer Singh (Saif Ali Khan) shows up in Turkey to side with Armaan Malik (John Abraham). But Ranveer’s got ulterior motives and embroiled in his revenge saga for his former lover Sonia's (Bipasha Basu) death are Elena (Deepika Padukone), Omisha (Jacqueline Fernandes), RD (Anil Kapoor) and Cherry (Ameesha Patel).

First half of the movie was nice. But in the second there were too many twists and turns resulting in a khichdi. One could guess what is going to happen. At the climax there was a feeling that something more will happen. But nothing happened.

Music - High paced & already hit with its catchy numbers
Script - The low factor of the film, with its predicatable suspense sequences of lies, betrayal & lots of back stabbing

Are you walking barefoot ?

Women and their love for shoes is legendary. There is no end to it. How could it be when there are so many varities available right from flip flops, peep toes, wedges to high heels to go with each of the dresses.

But in this mad rush of matching shoes with the dresses, we forget to look after our own heels. To wear any type of open shoes, its important that our feet should look beautiful too. Just by caring a little about your feet, you can make them healthy and as beautiful as your face looks.

The heels crack mainly because of dry skin. This means that the skin of your heels is lacking moisture. And this happens because your love for walking barefoot in summers and in winters because of cold weather.

What to do?
Every night before going to sleep, soak your feet in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes. Then scrub your heels gently with a pumice stone. This will remove the dead skin cells, revealing smoother skin. Rinse off your feet, pat them dry, then apply any foot cream or thick moisturiser. Lastly slip on a pair of old socks. Repeat this process for a few days and you will see the results.

If the cracks are painful, and the condition doesn't improve with an foot lotion, visit a podiatrist to treat the problem.

Simply by washing and applying a foot cream will do for people who only have dry heels and not cracked heels. This is a sure shot care regime which really works.

To prevent drying of heels, drink plenty of water and avoid excessive hot showers. With a good lotion and a little foot pampering daily, your heels will be well-moisturized and beautiful in no time.

Other easy home remedies
- Applying Olive oil
- Use Rosewater + Glycerine
- Applying mashed Ripe bananas

A Family Experience From Melbourne

I have never been to anywhere outside India. So, if I end up winning then I would love to bring my family along to the “Cosmopolitan, elegant and chic” -  Melbourne. That would mean extra work and extra expense, but the benefits will be undoubtedly worth it.
Family trips help create amazing memories. Years and even decades after family vacations, children will still be able to tell funny stories about the time that they had while swimming in the sea, watching a Giraffe, or while camping in the hills. As a couple too, we love to remember stories of the romance on our trips, looking at the photographs.
Moreover, I firmly believe in introducing the concept of traveling to children when they are young, and they’ll grow up understanding that there is a huge world outside of their hometown. They’ll have firsthand experiences that will help them in their growing years and beyond, and then they will pass down their love of travel to their own children and grandchildren!
Keeping this in mind I informed my family consisting of me, my husband, grand parents & 2 dear children, that I am planning a vacation. So each of us should prepare a list of things they want to do in their vacation. And then accordingly I will decide on the place, which has something to offer for everyone. (Although I had Melbourne on my mind. But I wanted to check that everyone wants to go there, which would require that what they want is there in the city)
Prepared by Family

So, after getting the list I clicked open the Melbourne website. I matched the things in the list with the various attractions and locales in the city. I was absolutely amazed to find that Melbourne had everything for every age group be it children, young or older people.
After Matching with Melbourne
Melbourne - The World's Most Liveable City, was founded in 1835 by settlers from Launceston in Van Diemen's Land and was named by Governor of New South Wales Sir Richard Bourke in 1837, in honor of the British Prime Minister of the day, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. Melbourne was officially declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847. A city as old as this has a strong historical and cultural presence with a plethora of  ornate Victorian-era structures

The list of 11 experiences as a family we would love to bring back from Melbourne are  -

  • Historical - Melbourne founded in 1835 by settlers from Launceston in Van Diemen's Land and was named by Governor of New South Wales Sir Richard Bourke in 1837, in honor of the British Prime Minister of the day, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. Melbourne was officially declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847. A city as old as this has a strong historical and cultural presence with a plethora of  ornate Victorian-era structures, heritage sites and glorious examples of art. • Shopping - The best experience a woman can have anywhere is shopping be lit local produce, fashionable clothes or souvenirs while travelling. Queen Victoria Market is a historical landmark where shoppers go in search of freshest produce , cheese, fresh bread, wine etc. In my list it is the top most place to go when in Melbourne. Other than that there are goodies galore to explore across the various lanes under the bright lights of the retail departmental stores. From fresh designer clothes, small trinkets to chic home items, Melbourne is just bursting with shopping destinations.

  • Nature - One of the most popular things to do when travelling to any place is getting close to the Mother nature. Inhale the fresh air on the trip down the Great Ocean Road. The highlight of the Great Ocean Road is a collection of limestone stacks known as the 12 Apostles which are one of Australia's most iconic landmarks. Other than that Melbourne is home to some great parks and gardens to explore. Not to miss visiting the Melbourne Aquarium and Zoo for children to discover the rich wildlife and marine life. A great experience for the family to bring from the city which is the most livable city in the world as of 2012.

Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage ?

A quintessential never ending debate of which is better.
Either ways Marriage is a gamble.
Case Love

Falling in love is a beautiful feeling that is worth experiencing once in a lifetime. And when you are in love, you will just know. All the time you will think of nothing else but your love. A little love in your system and Life will become beautiful. You will not stop smiling. You will become extra cautious in dressing. You will not be able to concentrate on work.

Then after love comes marriage, when you are sure that this is the person you want to spend your life with. Now the time comes to get approval from both sets of parents which is a tricky step in most cases. Even though now parents understand that time has changed and they cannot force their decisions specially when decisions are based on caste or ego. Still there are some cases in which parents do not come to agree easily which are the cases in which religion is different, or different culture where a foreign bride or groom is there. And now lately the same gender ones.

Case Arranged

You are lucky if you get to meet your soulmate. But some are not so lucky. What if your girlfriend or boyfriend ditches you. At times people are so busy in thier life that they forget to fall in love. For those people, arranged marriage is only the chance to get a soulmate. And in India arranges marriages have a more success rate. Our parents are best examples. They never dated or fell in love then got married. Their love happened after marriage. Mine is also an arranged one where parents first met and then we met. At that time there was no love. But after marriage slowly we discovered each other and learned to live with each other. Actually parents approval is important in any marriage as marriage in India is a marriage between two families. Morever parents have more experience, so going with their consent is not at all wrong. Its just that one should also meet the person, talk and then decide so that decision is not a compromise but is made when you too like ther person and think that you can spend your life with him or her.

VERDICT
In any case love or arranged, actually life starts after marriage. Until unless you get to live with the person, things are different. Real test comes when you start living under the same roof. Two persons from different upbringing, mental makeup, personality traits, with two different identities come together so the clashes of personalities, ideas, values and dreams is bound to be there. So it is important to respect each other.

And .......

After few years all Marriages are about love, trust, adjustments, understanding, forgiving, giving space and merging the I of both the persons into a common WE.
